Women's Oreus Hooded Jacket

A ground breaking synthetic insulated jacket for alpine pursuits. Built with Aetherm™ Precision Insulation which provides down-like warmth with the durability and weather resistance of synthetic fill.

The Oreus Jacket is the result of a 5-year development project to make what we believe to be the best mid-weight synthetic product currently available. Limited by the synthetic fills on the market, we set out to develop our own weaving fibres through heat-reflective fabric technology. Now patent pending and unique to Mountain Equipment, Aetherm™ Precision Insulation is warmer than anything of equivalent weight, as well as being more breathable and more packable.

The Oreus is already well proven, with prototypes seeing heavy use everywhere from the Karakoram to Patagonia and the Alps with rave reviews from our athlete team, many of whom are carrying these products instead of lightweight down due to their warmth, functionality and greater resilience in difficult conditions.

Crucially, the Oreus Jacket is one of the most versatile pieces of kit you can own, suitable for everything from super alpine climbing in the high mountains to ski touring in the Alps, hill walking in Scotland, or rock climbing on high crags. They can be worn as an outer layer, as a super warm mid-layer or thrown over the top of everything as a lightweight belay jacket or vest. The warmth, fast drying performance, low weight, and pack size are equally beneficial for almost any activity in the mountains.

Insulation

• 2 YKK® zipped handwarmer pockets give access to essentials
• 1 YKK® zipped chest pocket
• Large inner drop pocket for gloves and other items that need to be kept warm
• Inner drop pocket doubles as an integrated pack pocket and features twin karabiner carry loops

Centre Front Zip

• 2-way YKK® moulded centre front zip with insulated rear baffle to minimise heat loss and wind ingress
• Easy to use with gloves on

Cuffs & Sleeves Configuration

• Elasticated cuff construction for ease of use with gloves and perfect seal to maximise warmth
• Articulated and pre-shaped sleeves offer unhindered mobility when climbing in all your layers

Waist & Hem Construction

• Dual tether hem drawcords provide adjustment and increase thermal efficiency
