The Kisdon is very similar in performance to the Tethera or Nordkapp and together these three boots give us a multitude of fitting options. As you would expect from Altberg the boot is constructed from one piece of leather with minimal stitching of the upper. The boot has excellent foot and ankle support and although lightweight the Vibram sole gives good grip on a wide variety of terrain and conditions. The Kisdon is a three season mountain boot. However, it is still a very good boot for walking on some of the rougher lower hills. The Kisdon boot is part of Altbergs ‘GFit’ range for wider feet with above average volume. The boot is made from top quality 2.6mm Nubuck which will adapt to footshape. Nubuck leather is more breathable in summer. However, if your priority is waterproofing then the Nubuck can be treated with Leder-Gris wax oil. This will make the Nubuck more waterproof, similar to anfibio leather, note the change in appearance of the Nubuck is irreversible.
SIZE & FITTING ADVICE
Volume and width of this last is much higher than average, especially around the forefoot. The footshape is asymmetric and the heel is a medium size, to keep heel support good and snug. Reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot that has quite a round shape, unlike a lot of boots that are wide across the metatarsals they quickly taper to the toes with slightly above medium volume.
